My baking journey started right when I was old enough to hold a whisk. I remember begging for an easy bake oven for Christmas. When my parents caved I was absolutely mesmerized watching my first muffin being baked by the power of a single lightbulb! Growing up, I was always inspired by my older brother, René, who is an exceptional home cook.

I took my baking to the next level at the start of 2020. Like many others in lockdown, I was guilty of joining the “make your own sourdough starter” bandwagon. Although the sourdough starter eventually died, my love for baking did not! The obsession kept growing and I found my sweet spot when baking cupcakes and cakes. I started documenting my journey on Instagram and worked on developing my food photography skills while I was at it.

Family and friends started asking if I could bake custom desserts for different events… and I guess I accidentally fell into a side hustle!

My Family

I live with my partner, Amor (@itsamoreh). Yes his name literally means love 🩷. We met at Centreville Amusement Park in Toronto where we were both working as rides attendants. We’ve been together ever since! We are partners in life, and also partners in rock climbing 🧗‍♀️. He is my faithful food tester and he’s always giving me honest feedback so that I keep getting better. He’s also a professional web developer so of course he made me this cute website!

Our family grew by four paws 🐾🐾 in October of 2022 when we adopted our dog Rojo (@rojotherescue). We were supposed to foster him, but immediately knew he was our forever dog. He’s from Texas, where he spent about 49 days in an outdoor crate at a shelter, before he was brought to Canada. He is now the happiest boy and loves to play frisbee, cuddle, swim, and follow us everywhere we go.

Everything Else

As much as I love the world of food, it is not actually my day job. I work as a full time social worker. I’ve had a couple different jobs since finishing my MSW, but right now I work as a school social worker.

We currently live in London, Ontario, but Amor and I both grew up in the west end of Toronto. We also lived in Montreal for a number of years, and not going to lie, we really miss a walkable city with reliable transit!
